New in 2023 - West Michigan Beach Volleyball Club
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 - 11:00 at Grand Haven State Park
June 20 - July 27 (No practice the week of the July 4th)
We are excited to launch a new beach volleyball club, for motivated athletes looking to become better beach volleyball players. Over the course of our five week program, we'll focus on individual skill development, team strategy, and competitive game situations. All practices will be led by Pete Goers, former AVP professional beach volleyball player. You may sign up as a team or individual - No partner needed!
Full season - Ten, 2-hour sessions - $250/athlete
Single drop in session - for those looking to try it out, or those unable to attend multiple sessions - $30/session
FAQ
Who can participate?
Boys or girls entering grades 6-12
Is experience required?
It is preferred that athletes have some volleyball experience, but we welcome first time beach players.
Do they need a partner?
NO! We'll match athletes up when partners are needed, but some prefer to have a dedicated partner. We encourage athletes to play with multiple partners during the season, especially in tournaments.
Are there competitions?
Athletes are encouraged to play in tournaments, but they aren't required, or included.
Will you be coaching at the tournaments?
In short, no. Beach volleyball is different from most other sports in that coaching is not allowed during game play, only during time outs, side switches and between sets. Our goal is to train and prepare athletes, but making mistakes, adjusting, and figuring things out with a partner during competition are important steps in the process of learning the game.
Will we get uniforms?
West Michigan Volleyball gear will be available at a discount, but isn't included in your registration fee.
Are there tryouts?
We won't be having tryouts, but we may limit the number of participants based on coaching availability.
Do I need a volleyball?
We'll provide the balls, nets, lines, and everything else needed for practice.
Can I try it out to see if I like it?
Sign up for a single session to see if it's a good fit. If you decide to register for the whole season, your fee can be applied to the balance.
